HOW I CELEBRATED MY LOVE STORY AT HISTORIC HUDSON STUDIOS

A personal look at why this studio might just be the perfect wedding venue for you, too.

When we were planning our wedding, there was really only one place that made sense: Historic Hudson Studios.

To most people, it might just seem like a photo and video production space—a big, beautiful one, yes—but to me, it’s something much more personal. It’s where I work on the digital marketing team. It’s where my husband has worked for over a decade. And it’s the business my mother-in-law Renee Anjanette, a renowned photographer, built from scratch with years of hard work, talent, and love.

So when we got married here last September, it was emotional in the best way. There are over ten years of work and family memories in this space—and celebrating our wedding here gave the day a meaning and warmth that I’ll never forget.

My husband was born and raised in Los Angeles. I’m from South America. So for me, being able to celebrate our love story in this space—surrounded by people from all over who traveled in to be with us—was something I’ll always be grateful for. It felt like our whole world came together in one room.

The Look? Effortless. The Feel? Unforgettable.

From white and exposed brick walls to warm wood tones and industrial beams, the space has that perfect mix of raw and refined. I’ve always loved tropical flowers, and I wanted to bring that South American flair to the decor. We kept things budget-friendly—I chose the flowers myself—and was honestly surprised by how little we needed to make the space shine. It already had so much texture and charm. The tropical florals just fit.

We also had live Bossa nova music, a Brazilian food buffet, and little touches throughout that made it feel like a true merging of our cultures. It wasn’t fancy or formal—it was cozy, loving, and very us.

Designed for Celebration

Even though the studio can accommodate up to 300 guests, we kept it intimate with about 50 people. And it was perfect. Because there are several studios within the building, we were able to create different environments for different parts of the night—ceremony in one space, dinner in another, dancing in another.

Nothing ever felt crammed or chaotic. We had space for our live band, a buffet, a bar, a Photo Booth, and plenty of seating. And because guests could spread out and move between spaces, the whole night felt relaxed, classy, and really full of those “magic moment” vibes.

Structure Meets Creative Freedom

We knew we wanted to keep costs down and do things our way. That’s one of the biggest benefits of this venue—there are no required vendor lists or hidden fees for doing things differently. We had the freedom to plan exactly what we wanted, how we wanted it.

This was a wedding we worked hard to bring to life, and we had so much help from loved ones. But the space made it easier. We hosted our menu tastings here. There was tons of room for vendor access. Parking was never an issue. And the valet concierge service made things seamless for guests.

The Planning Help You Didn’t Know You’d Need

As someone who tends to take on everything myself, I can’t overstate how important it was to have the support of an experienced event expert and the support of your loved ones. I had never planned a wedding before—and the closer you get to the big moment, the more you realize how many little things need to be handled while you're sitting in a makeup chair getting lashes applied.

That’s when having someone to help coordinate behind the scenes becomes everything. I could actually be present in the moment and not stress over logistics. Planning a wedding is a huge emotional and mental lift, especially for women—but you don’t have to do it all alone. This space, and the support that comes with it, allowed me to focus on what matters most.

If you’re looking for a unique Hollywood wedding venue that lets you be creative, resourceful, and fully yourself—this is it.

It may have been built for photo shoots and productions, but it’s also a place where love stories unfold in the most personal, beautiful way.

Reach out if you’re looking for a space that lets you do it your way. Our HHS family would love to assist you in any way we can to bring your celebration to life.
