THE END OF AN ERA

After ten wildly creative, chaotic, espresso-fueled years, Historic Hudson Studios is closing shop.

It started as a dream: create a space where creativity could thrive (and chaos was welcome).

Along the way, we hosted everything from political fundraisers to food fights, added kitchens, a glam room, and somehow survived a pandemic—with extra monitors and sheer willpower.

We flexed hard, turned around shoots in hours, and yes, occasionally forgot to cancel software trials. We regret nothing. Except QuickBooks.

Before we turn off the lights, here are 10 unforgettable highlights:

  1. 2014Renee Anjanette turns a vision into an actual studio biz.

  2. Our first influencer event, decked out by the amazing Wiley West Creative.

  3. Million Women March meetup—posters, Phoenix kites, and power.

  4. The Surface Library is born…in the back corner of the studio.

  5. Blowout Party/ fundraiser for the ACLU.

  6. 2019 – Surface Library expands, moving out into its own gorgeous space.

  7. 2020–21 – COVID. Quiet. Remote shoots. Survival.

  8. Joshua Kalmar becomes our fearless on-site captain.

  9. 2022Sienna DeGovia joins, we grow to 10,000 sq. ft., we demolish and rebuild into a stunning new space.

  10. We GLOW UP!—branding by Willhouse, marketing by Ana Beatriz Chacon, and social fire from Kai Cameron.

From cookbook shoots to podcasts to fashion mag covers, we became the studio for it all.

By 2024, it was clear the scene was shifting—strikes, costs, and (yep) fires in 2025 gave us the sign.

So here we are: full hearts, empty inboxes (sort of), and endless gratitude.

Thanks for making it magical.
